To be played with the right hand only (so the left hand can hold the baby). Written for my sister Mary's daughter Alice (known as Boris while in utero). My next door neighbour had a new baby around the time I wrote it, and she thanked me for the soothing tinkling during the troublesome times. Unfortunately, Mary's hand span wasn't quite up to playing it and the few month old Alice wasn't particularly receptive when uncle Mal let loose a rendition. Oh well. It was recorded on the old family piano which decided to develop a sticky C# on the day I recorded it (a problem that never was prior and hasn't been since).
