(for Gran) https://malwebb.bandcamp.com/track/missing-link These three chords plait together into song With love for the missing link Ice cream's lovely and Vegemite rocks My smile might make you think that I'm insane At this point you'd expect a middle eight I don't long to be right at every turn End with wit and profundity sublime With love for the missing link I had an idea for a CD cover photo, making using of my hirsute nature, that the title "Missing Link" would help, so I set about writing this song. It headed in all sorts of directions and I did think it needed editing, but then realised that a whole bunch of unlinked ideas makes sense in such a song! Now, a "145" refers to a chord progression (a "three chord wonder"), which, in the key of A, would be A, D and E. In most songs, the chords are in various orders, like 1415 (ADAE), 1545 (AEDE), etc., but in this song, they just repeat 145145145 .... for the whole song, but because the song has 4 bar phrasing, it has a 12 bar form to bring it back to the one... although I build up to that form gradually (using curtailed versions of it!). Shrödinger's cat is a mythical cat created to illustrate the "uncertainty principle" of quantum physics: For a full explanation of this, see elsewhere. Oh, and by the way, I changed my mind on the CD title... |
